DiffPDF6 will work only on 64-bit Windows.

1. On the computer you want to use, either:
   • Download either the DiffPDF installerDiffPDF-6.1.1-amd64.msi(25MB; MD5f9ed3ac073582634660f27d81170cb8b) orDiffPDF-6.1.1.zip(25MB; MD5fa27b05070cefbb18bd6eee5db7671ba).
     (You may get an invalid warning about the .msi file. Also,some virus checkers may give a false positive, in which case you mayprefer to use the .zip version.)
2. Double-click the installer and follow the on-screen instructions toinstall DiffPDF.
   (Alternatively, unpack the .zip file andcreate a shortcut to DiffPDF.exe.)
3. The first time DiffPDF is run it will automatically try to acquire afree trial license key over the internet, after which it will beready for use.

Buy ($149 USD)

Once you're ready to buy DiffPDF, start it up, then click the Registerbutton to show the Register window, then:

1. Click the Register window's Buy Nowbutton to open a web browser window at the secure MyCommerce purchasepage, and complete the purchase.
2. You will be emailed your OrderID and the annual licensekey.
3. Once you receive the key, copy and paste it into the Registerwindow's Key line editor. Then click the I Accept the License checkbox,and then click OK.

We recommend trying before buying, since license keypurchases can't be refunded.

Each annual license key is valid for one year from the date of purchaseand will work for all minor and patch versions (e.g., if acquired forversion 6, it is valid for all 6.x.y versions). Annuallicense keys are not tied to any particular machine and may befreely transferred (moved)—but not copied—from one computer to another(e.g., if a computer is replaced).

By default DiffPDF highlights deleted text in red, inserted text incyan, and replaced text in magenta. All the colors can be customized, orplain highlighting can be chosen. The change bar color, thickness, andindent can also be customized—or the change bar can be hiddenentirely. (Top)

In this screenshot we see that the control panel can be switched to theright, and the view panels can be set to be vertical—useful forPDFs that are much wider than they are tall. (All four possible layoutoptions are supported.)

What the screenshots don't show is that DiffPDF can producereports—either a PDF that matches what's seen on the screen, ortextual reports. Nor do the screenshots reveal all the options that areavailable. For example, it is possible to exclude corners and/or marginsand/or arbitrary rectanglesfrom consideration when comparing, which is ideal for excludingtimestamps. It is also possible to compare ranges of pages to accountfor inserted and deleted pages. All DiffPDF's functionality is explainedin the manual, and, of course, you cantry it before buying it.

Example Comparison

Here is an example comparison that shows how DiffPDF indicatesdifferences between two PDFs whose pages are slightly different:

By default, change bars are shown in red, and changes are highlightedwith deletions in red, insertions in cyan, and replacements in magenta.In this example, the red and cyan highlighting indicates text that hasmoved (i.e., been deleted from one place and inserted in another). Andthe magenta highlighting indicates text that has been replaced in itsoriginal position. (Note that if plain rather than change highlightingis used—which is the default—all differences are shown inyellow.) All colors can be changed, as can the width of the change barand many other things.

The image above shows what appears on-screen in DiffPDF's userinterface. DiffPDF can also output PDF reports which contain each pairof differing pages with the differences highlighted as shown above.
