LOUISVILLE, Kentucky – (BUSINESS WIRE) – Papa John’s International, Inc. (NASDAQ: PZZA) announces today that it has been recognized by its inclusion on the prestigious Forbes list of Top Employers for Diversity 2021. These results are the result of a rigorous analysis of Forbes and Statista Inc., the world’s leading statistics portal and industry ranking provider. The list of awards was announced today and can be viewed on Forbes website. Papa John’s was one of 18 restaurant companies on the 500 employer list.
“Every day at Papa John’s, we work to build a culture of leaders who believe in diversity, inclusiveness and winning, guided by our core corporate values, specifically “Everyone Belongs”. Not only is this the right thing to do, but a culture that everyone belongs to helps us attract and retain talent and encourages successful innovation, as evidenced by the accelerated transformation of the business, ”said Marvin Boakye, Director of Human Resources and Diversity. “We are honored to be recognized and celebrated for the hard work of our team in creating a great company where everyone can be themselves authentic, own their contributions and take action to do the right thing.
The Best Employers for Diversity were selected based on Statista’s innovative methodology, ensuring unbiased results and providing reliable information. More than 50,000 American employees were surveyed at companies with 1,000 or more employees to identify the best employers for diversity.
The assessment was based on four different criteria:
- Direct recommendations: Employees were asked to comment on a series of statements regarding age, gender, ethnicity, disability, LGBTQA + and general diversity in their current workplace. Recommendations from women, elders and ethnic minorities were more weighted than those from non-minority groups.
- Indirect recommendations: Participants also had the chance to rate other employers from their respective industries that stand out positively or negatively when it comes to diversity. Only the recommendations of minority groups have been taken into account.
- Diversity among senior executives / board of directors and Diversity engagement indicators were also part of the assessment.
Papa John’s is grateful to be recognized by Forbes for his progress in all three areas, as he continues to strive to be a diverse and inclusive organization.
