Planting five saplings during the construction of a new house: Minister Srinivas Goud

Mahaboubnagar: Excise Minister V Srinivas Goud wanted officials to sensitize the population to the planting of five saplings during the construction of new houses in order to increase green coverage in the district.

As part of the road widening and pavement development, saplings were being planted along the central medians of Appannapalli at RTA’s office in the city, he said.

As part of the Haritha Haram program, the Minister planted saplings on the middle road in front of R&B Guest House.

He asked the district officials to set up a drip irrigation system to ensure a steady supply of water to the saplings, in addition to good growth.
Addressing the occasion, he said the Telangana government is striving to ensure the comprehensive development of the city of Mahabubnagar.

The minister said that before 2014, Mahabubnagar was deprived of any development. Residents complained about insufficient water and electricity supplies and the lack of proper infrastructure in the district, especially in the city, he said.

“After the formation of Telangana, Mahabubnagar experienced rapid development and many steps were taken to continue its development,” said Srinivas Goud.

Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s vision to increase green coverage in the state through Haritha Haram has yielded good results. In addition to this program, MP Rajya Sabha J Santosh Kumar’s Green India Challenge initiative was also appreciated by all sections, he said.
